MY WHY
As a young girl I grew up with natural hair (Afro textured hair), styling and braiding hair has been my passion since the age of 9. My parents would find me braiding my hair for hours and praise me for having that skill at such a young age. I would became so indulged in braiding that it kept me focused to become a very young entrepreneur.
The more familiar I became with my own hair the more I wanted to know how to keep it as healthy as possible. I went on to obtain my cosmetology license, while attending beauty school I realized cosmetology school would teach me about many different hair textures and products other than my own texture.
After completing the 1600 hours required to receive my cosmetology license within two yeays I thought my training was complete. However, after such an amazing accomplishment, there was a lot missing. I realized cosmetology school didn’t teach me how to properly care for and style my own naturally textured hair. I lacked the in depth knowledge regarding products that actually worked for kinky and curly textured hair like my own.
My true journey began three years after becoming a licensee I researched countless natural ingredients that are beneficial for natural hair like mine without harsh chemicals. The next 10 years consisted of sleepless nights and trial runs with my clients who wanted to help support me in getting just the perfect 100% natural formula.
After becoming a mother I put my business ventures aside anytime financial hardships presented themselves. When I got comfortable as a stylist behind a styling chair, my clients would remind me how much potential my products had if I just keep on going. I recall getting a call from my client Linda saying “Tiarra I really hope you reconsider taking those products and putting them back on the market, you really have something good if you just market them right!” After 10 years of trial and error I finally discovered the perfect formula for the TC Product Line which consists of a Conditioning Shampoo, Moist N’ Go Spray and Herbal Oil.
